Musicians Collaborate For Converse

The Converse century celebration is promoting new music with a collaboration between Pharrell Williams, N.E.R.D, Santogold, and Julian Casablancas (The Strokes). The result? A song called "My Drive Thru", which will be available online for free digital download at http://www.converse.com/ starting Tuesday June 10.



The three musicians have also participated in a music video for the popular shoe brand which will air in the summer time. The advertisements for the music and Converse shoes are called "Three Artists, One Song" and will feature the three artists on the drive thru song as well as other emerging musical talent. Other artists include, MGMT, Bradford Cox of Deerhunter, Atlas Sound, YACHT, Kid Sister, Eleanor Friedberger of The Firey Furnaces, Frank Carter of Gallows, Does It Offend You, Yeah?, and Sophie of Care Bears on Fire.

Scarlett Johansson Reveals Album Cover

Scarlett Johansson has finally released the cover of her upcoming album, "Anywhere I Lay My Head". The album is being produced by the label Atco, which is an affiliate of Warner Music.



Johansson mostly sings covers of Tom Waits songs on the album, but there is one original composition by the actress, called "Song for Jo". Look for the album on May 20th.

Bif Naked Diagnosed With Breast Cancer

Canadian, Vancouver based rocker, Bif Naked announced on January 6th, during a live radio interview that she has breast cancer. The singer found a strange lump in her breast and had it checked out by a doctor, who told her it was stage 2 breast cancer.



Bif Naked, 36, works out regularly, is a non-smoker and eats a strict vegan diet, which makes her unlikely to get cancer. The singer is informing everyone, “It is important for everyone to understand that cancer is non discriminatory and even those in great health can be subject to cancer as a diagnosis,” Naked said in a statement released by her label. “I urge all women at every age to self examine and go for scheduled mammograms.”

The next step for Naked is surgery to remove the lump and continue with her music.
